Dr. Gilda Gilak is a Board Certified Chiropractor in the State of California and nationwide. She graduated from Southern California University of Health and Sciences, one of the best chiropractic universities and the only university that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC).
Her undergraduate degree is in the field of cellular and molecular biology with a minor in microbiology, which fostered her understanding of the physiology of the human body. In August 2005, she organized and led a volunteer trip to Bolivia where 20 students from Southern California University of Health and Sciences treated 1000 patients for 10 days.
Dr. Gilak was given an honorary recognition from The American Chiropractic Association for being an Advocate for the Chiropractic Profession, Dec. 2005. She was nominated by Southern California University of Health and Sciences to receive a leadership award from Who’s Who Among American Student Colleges, Jan. 2004. She is the Past President of the California Chiropractic Association and was an Adjunct Professor of Anatomy and Microbiology at the Southern California University of Health Sciences between 2007 - 2009.
She was nominated to receive an outstanding graduate award from Association of Professors and Scholars of Iranian Heritage, March 2006. After graduating chiropractic school, she worked in a multidisciplinary clinic alongside an MD and Orthopedic surgeon.
She is a certified practitioner in Active Release Technique of the Spine, Upper and Lower Extremities and nerventrapment. She is a commitee member of PAAIA (Public Affairs Alliance of Iranian Americans). She also has been an active member of Newport Beach Jaycees for the past few years, serving the local community. She is also a passionate triathlete who just finished her second race in October 2006.
